SUPERIOR, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Superior men's hockey program revealed its schedule for the 2024-25 season in an announcement Tuesday. Rich Mckenna is entering his ninth season as head coach and is nine wins shy of 100 wins at UW-Superior.

UW-Superior opens the campaign at home Friday, Nov. 8 hosting Gustavus followed by Saturday night's match up with St. Olaf. Both games are set for a 7:05 p.m. puck drop at Wessman Arena.

The first road game of the campaign will take place on Nov. 15, as the 'Jackets head across the bridge to face St. Scholastica. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at MARS Lakeview Arena. Saturday night the Yellowjackets will travel to Bethel for puck drop at the National Sports Center.

Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play opens for the Yellowjackets Nov. 22 at Wessman Arena against UW-Eau Claire. Continuing WIAC play, the Yellowjackets will hit the road Nov. 23 to see the Pointers of UW-Stevens point at K.B. Willet Arena.

The 6th annual Superior Showdown, Sponsored by Subway, has been moved to Thanksgiving weekend. The Yellowjackets will look to defend their first-place finish from last year as they host Dubuque, St. Scholastica, and Lawrence at Wessman Arena on Nov. 29-30.

The Yellowjackets return to WIAC play when they travel to UW-River Falls, facing the Falcons at Hunt Arena Dec.6 before welcoming UW-Stout to Wessman Areana the next day.
UWS will see Northland for a home-and-home series the following week. Thursday, Dec. 12 the Yellowjackets will welcome the Lumberjacks to Wessman Arena before traveling to Bay Area Civic Center Saturday night.

Returning from winter break, Jan. 3-4 the Yellowjackets head to the East Coast for the 59th Codfish Bowl Tournament hosted by UMass Boston. Friday Jan. 3 UWS will see UMass Boston for the first time in school history. Saturday, Jan.4 the Yellowjackets will either see Fitchburg State or Johnson & Wales.

After returning from the East Coast the Yellowjackets play their last non-conference games of the campaign. Jan. 10 the Yellowjackets welcome Concordia Moorhead and Saturday, Jan.11 the Johnnies of Saint John's. Both games to take place at Wessman Arena.

With a quick turnaround, the Yellowjackets will kick off a nine-game stretch of WIAC matchups starting on Jan. 15 when they host Northland at Wessman Arena. The following weekend UW-Superior will host a two-game series with UW-River Falls at Wessman Arena.

Hitting the road for a two-game series with UW-Eau Claire, the Yellowjackets will face the Blugolds Jan.31-Feb.1 at Hobbs Ice Center. The last road games of the regular season for the 'Jackets will be against UW-Stout, Feb.7-8 at Fanetti Community Ice Center.

Returning home to close out the regular season, the 'Jackets are set to face UW-Stevens Point at Wessman Arena for a two-game series Feb.14-15.  

Last season the Yellowjackets went 11-15-1 overall and 6-8-1 in the WIAC.
