MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Yellowjacket women's soccer team hit the road for the first time in 2024 Saturday, when they crossed the state of Minnesota for a date with Concordia College.
Â
The start to the 2024 season has provided one of the most difficult season-opening schedules in program history, with the first five matches coming against three Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and two Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) foes.
Â
Heading into Saturday, the Yellowjackets had dropped two in a row and were hoping to avoid a three-match losing streak for the first time since Sept. 23-25, 2019. Concordia was part of that streak, and unfortunately, they are now part of a second one for the Yellowjackets.
Â
Superior fell behind early in the first half and never recovered, falling 3-0 to the Cobbers in a match where the 'Jackets never seemed to find their collective footing.
Â
The Yellowjackets now sit 2-4-0 overall in 2024.
