Yellowjacket Snap Losing Streak with Shutout over North Central

SUPERIOR, Wis. – The UW-Superior women's soccer team hosted North Central at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex on Wednesday afternoon for their first Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) match of the campaign. This afternoon's match up marked the first of a six game UMAC stretch. The Yellowjackets would get off to a slow start in the first half before kicking it into gear in the second half. With eight second half goals, the 'Jackets would roll past the Rams 10-0.

UWS now sits 3-4-0 overall and 1-0-0 in UMAC play.

Heading into Wednesday, the Yellowjackets had dropped three in a row and were looking to break that streak. Mya Holmquist (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) would start the Yellowjackets off with shot to the high right section of the net to put the 'Jackets on the board. Holmquist ended with a six-point match, scoring twice, and adding two assists.

Yellowjacket goalkeeper Quinn Clack got the start in net and finished with one save that came in the 83rd minute of the match. Clark is credited with the win and is now 2-2-0 in net.
