PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The Yellowjacket men's basketball team was back in action Saturday for day two of the Gabe Miller Classic hosted by UW-Platteville. After falling to Carroll last night, the 'Jackets were still in search of their first win of the season and standing in their way was Coe. After leading by double digits in both halves, UWS was unable to pull off the victory falling to the Kohawks 73-69.
Game Notes:
-
The 'Jackets got their first half lead up to 12 before Coe battled back eventually getting the lead to three before the half, but a three pointer from Andrew Beers (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) sent UWS into half with a six-point lead.
-
UWS built their lead back to 12 in the second half off buckets from Caiden Lecce (Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph Catholic) and Nick Nordaune (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) but the Kohawks again battled back tying the game with four and a half minutes remaining in the second half.
The Yellowjackets return to action in nine days to take on Wisconsin Lutheran. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Time of Grace Center in Milwaukee.
