FOND du LAC, Wis. – The Yellowjacket men's hockey team began the 2025-26 season Saturday, traveling to the Blue Line Family Ice Center for a meeting with the Sabres of Marian University. The 'Jackets displayed a balanced attack in their first tilt of the campaign, rolling to a 7-0 victory.
 
Game Notes
	- Justin Dauphinais (Val Caron, Ontario/École Secondaire Catholique Horizon) logged the first goal for Superior in the new season, scoring short-handed in the first period at 13:54 with an assist from Carson Riddle (Ortonville, Mich./Brandon).
 
	- In the second Riddle would rattle off a goal of his own, lighting the lamp at 4:24 with a helper from Dusty Bergstrom (Pine City, Minn./Pine City).
 
	- Three Yellowjackets logged their first collegiate points at 14:23. AJ Reed (Milwaukee, Wis./Menomonee Falls) found his way on the scoresheet after a shot beat the Sabre goaltender, as Andrew Larson (Duluth, Minn./Denfeld) and Roope Tuomioksa (Tuusula, Finland/Mäkelänrinne Sports High) provided the assistance.
 
	- Four Superior goals were scored in the final frame, beginning with a power-play goal off the stick of Chris Ishmael (Oakville, Ontario/Abbey Park Secondary School).
 
	- At 13:14 and 13:42, Tuomioksa collected his first two collegiate goals before Matthew Danziger sealed the game with a goal of his own, coming at 15:23.
 
	- UWS led 25-17 in shots throughout the game.
 
	- Jan Skorpik (Brandýs nad Labem, Czechia/OA Prague) drew the start in the Yellowjackets' opener and turned in a strong outing, making 17 saves and collecting his third collegiate shutout.
 
 
The Yellowjackets are back in action Friday as they travel to Don Roberts Ice Rink to face Gustavus Adolphus. The opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. in Saint Peter, Minn.
