SUPERIOR, Wis. - On day two of Superior Showdown the Yellowjackets men's hockey team found themselves in the consolation game facing off against St. Scholastica. After a chippy game with 25 penalties combined between both teams, the 'Jackets were able to emerge victorious over the Saints with a 5-2 final score. Â

Roope Tuomioksa (Tuusula, Finland/Mäkelänrinne Sports High) opened the scoring in the game as he found the back of the net at the seven-minute mark off an assist from Carson Riddle (Ortonville, Mich./Brandon). Â

UWS tacked on their second goal of the game off the stick of Matt Danziger (Potomac, Md./University of Nebraska High) as he found a pass from Dusty Bergstrom (Pine City, Minn./Pine City) to send the 'Jackets into the first intermission up 2-0. Â

The 'Jackets were able to regain the lead as Riddle answered to make the score 3-2 on helpers from AJ Reed (Milwaukee, Wis./Menomonee Falls) and Tyler Ryder (Byron Center, Mich./Northstar Christian Academy). Â

Superior added two more goals in the third period as Daniel Rozsival (Chicago, Ill./North Shore Country Day) scored shorthanded, and Chris Ishmael (Oakville, Ontario/Abbey Park Secondary School) added the fifth Yellowjacket goal unassisted on the power play. Â
UWS returns to action next Friday night to host UW-River Falls. Opening faceoff inside Wessman Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m.Â
