SUPERIOR, Wis. – The Yellowjacket men's hockey team returned to Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) action Friday as they hosted UW-River Falls. In their 174th meeting both teams found the back of the net in the first period, and from there the Falcons scored three more to secure a 4-3 win.

Game Notes
- The first goal came from the Yellowjackets on the power play, as Daniel Rozsival (Chicago, Ill./North Shore Country Day) lit the lamp after receiving assistance from Justin Dauphinais (Val Caron, Ontario/École Secondaire Catholique Horizon) and Chris Ishmael (Oakville, Ontario/Abbey Park Secondary School) at 10:35.
- Shortly after, the Falcons responded with a power play goal of their own, leveling the score at 1-1 heading into the first intermission.
- UWRF rifled two more power play goals in the second, but Superior responded shortly before the horn sounded. Logan Nickerson (East Haddam, Conn./West Haven) sent a shot that beat the Falcons goaltender Brennan Boynton to bring the 'Jackets within one at 3-2. Tyler Ryder (Byron Center, Mich./Northstar Christian Academy) and Rozsival were credited with the helpers.
- The Falcons utilized an empty net to their advantage, scoring their fourth goal of the game at 18:28. 30 seconds later, Blake Setter (Calgary, Alberta/Central Memorial) made things interesting by firing a goal to make it 4-3, but the Falcon defense held their own for the next 66 seconds to defeat Superior 4-3.
- Skorpik finished the game with 26 saves taking the loss. His record now stands at 4-3 on the campaign.

Superior is back in action Saturday as they travel to UW-Stout. The opening faceoff inside the Fanetti Community Center is slated for 7 p.m.
