SUPERIOR, Wis. – The Yellowjacket men's soccer team defeated the Polars of Crown College by a score of 4-0 Wednesday evening, securing home advantage as they look to obtain their ninth postseason championship.
Match Notes
- Seth Davidson (Sartell, Minn./Sartell) struck twice within the first eight minutes of the match. In the sixth minute of play Orlando Fertleman (London, England/Aldenham) and Rowan Wagner (McFarland, Wis./McFarland) garnered assists, while Wagner and Harvey McLoughlin (London, England/Highgate Woods) found helpers for Davidson's second of the match.
- Jacob Wyles (Watlington, Oxfordshire/FAB Academy) also truck in the first half, as he found McLoughlin feed to bury it past the Polar keeper in the 24th minute of play.
- The final blow came at the 57th minute, as Bryce Boldt (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) set up Joel Thomas (Cardiff, Wales/Islwyn) for his fourth goal of the season.
- Superior controlled the offensive attack throughout the match, along just three shots to Crown throughout the match.
- Patrick Sessions (Brighton, England/Brighton, Hove & Sussex Sixth Form College) and Luke Lockman (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) split time in goal Wednesday, securing the victory for the Yellowjackets.
- Final shots totaled 34-3 in favor of UWS, with 14-2 in shots on goal.
The Yellowjackets will face the winner of Northwestern and Bethany Lutheran at SCCU Stadium this Saturday at 2 p.m.
