NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Yellowjacket women's basketball team was back on the road Saturday to face another MIAC opponent this time being Carleton. In this game, the 'Jackets were able to secure their first win of the season, beating the Knights 52-49.

In the third quarter, the 'Jackets jumped ahead by as many as nine points behind buckets from Elsa Olson (Cottage Grove, Minn./Park) and Hope Carlson (Duluth, Minn./Proctor) and giving the 'Jackets a 42-35 lead heading into the final frame.

The Knights battled back into the game in the fourth, getting the UWS lead as low as two but a three pointer from MyKenzie Leccia (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) and clutch free throw from Olson sealed the victory.
The Yellowjackets are back in action on Wednesday as they cross the bridge to take on St. Scholastica. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Reif Gym in Duluth.
