SUPERIOR, Wis. - The Yellowjacket women's basketball team hosted UW-Stout on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action. Superior and Stout shared a pod last season in the NCAA tournament but did not face each other. Behind a strong fourth quarter, the Blue Devils were able to put away UWS 65-40.

In the first quarter the 'Jackets built a five-point lead as Maddie Reott (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) and Hope Carlson (Duluth, Minn./Proctor) scored early points before Stout had the game tied 14-14 at the end of the period.

Superior and Stout traded buckets in the second quarter as Megan Schafer (Grantsburg, Wis./Grantsburg) and Kylee Hewitt (Hurley, Wis./) scored for UWS, but a last second shot put Stout up 25-21 at the half.
Superior is next in action next Saturday to take on UW-Stevens Point. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium.
