Four Women’s Basketball Athletes Honored on CSC Academic All-District List

SUPERIOR, Wis. – Four members of the Yellowjacket women's basketball team were recognized on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
 
The senior trio of Hannah Hause (Stanley, Wis./Stanley-Boyd), Elise Besonen (Ewen, Mich./Ewen-Trout Creek) and Katie Dobson (Black River Falls, Wis./Black River Falls) were honored, while junior MyKenzie Leccia (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) also received an all-district nod from the CSC.
 
Hause's senior campaign saw her appear in 26 games and earning four starts. Playing in 243 minutes on the hardwood (9.3 per game) she shot 40.5 percent from the field, adding four made shots from the charity stripe. Hause added three steals and 19 assists offensively, scoring 34 points on the campaign. Defensively she accounted for 56 total rebounds while adding three steals under her belt.
 
Besonen played a career-high 1,026 minutes on the hardwood in 2024-25, accumulating 3,205 minutes in her Yellowjacket career. She shot 46.5 percent from the field, adding 55 shots from beyond the arc. At the free throw line Besonen was 66-for-69 (95.7 percent), while adding 78 rebounds. She added 61 assists, 41 steals and scored 441 points to eclipse the 1,000-career point mark at UW-Superior.
 
Dobson started all 28 games she appeared in as a senior. Averaging 30 minutes a game and totaling 839 minutes on the season, she shot 37.9 percent from the field (88-for-232) and fired 46 three pointers on the season. Dobson drained 35-of-47 shots from the free throw line while totaling a team-second 144 rebounds. Furthermore, she scored 257 points on the campaign and added 18 blocked shots and 26 steals.
 
Leccia also started all 28 games she appeared in during 2024-25. She logged 759 minutes on the court, shooting 35.5 percent from the field (77-for-217) and converting 41 shots from downtown. At the free throw line Leccia shot at a 78.1 percent clip, making 25-of-32 on the campaign. She capped her junior season with 114 rebounds, along with 49 assists, ten blocks and 42 steals on her way to being named the UMAC's Defensive Player of the Year.
 
The Yellowjackets claimed the fourth UMAC championship in program history in 2024-25, finishing with an overall record of 17-11.
