RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The Yellowjacket men's hockey team hit the road Friday night to take on UW-River Falls. In the previous matchup between these two teams, the Falcons took down the 'Jackets by a final score of 4-3. In this contest, the Falcons used big first and second periods to take a 5-3 victory over the Yellowjackets.

The Yellowjackets struck early as Blake Setter (Calgary, Alberta/Central Memorial) scored off feeds from Carson Riddle (Ortonville, Mich./Brandon) and Justin Dauphinais (Val Caron, Ontario/École Secondaire Catholique Horizon) at 1:13 in the first period.

The Yellowjackets scored their second goal on the power play as Alexey Yarmulnik (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) fired a shot that deflected off a Falcon skate and into the net just 12 seconds into the second period. Jordan Gibbs (Redwood Falls, Minn./Jefferson) and Dusty Bergstrom (Pine City, Minn./Pine City) were credited with assists on the goal.

Daniel Rozsival (Chicago, Ill./North Shore Country Day) scored the final goal of the game as he found the net one minute into the third period receiving assists from Chris Ishmael (Oakville, Ontario/Abbey Park Secondary School) and Kade Shea (Duluth, Minn./Denfeld).

Superior used a pair of goaltenders in the game with Jack Boschert (Florissant, Mo./Duchesne) drawing the start and making ten saves before Kobe Grant (Vernon, British Columbia/South Kamloops Secondary) came in and made 24.
The Yellowjackets and Falcons run it back tomorrow night for game two of their weekend series. The opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. inside Hunt Arena in River Falls.
