MORRIS, Minn. - The Yellowjacket women's basketball team made trek west to take on Minnesota Morris on Saturday afternoon. Despite a hot start for Superior, a cold third quarter allowed the Cougars to take control and the win 59-48.

After a Morris timeout the 'Jackets got their lead to 19-10 as Hope Carlson (Duluth, Minn./Proctor) scored four points and Leccia banked in a three, but the Cougars made three free throws to make the score 19-13 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter the two teams traded buckets as Kylee Hewitt (Hurley, Wis./) and Megan Schafer (Grantsburg, Wis./Grantsburg) scored, but Morris tied the game going into halftime at 27.
The Yellowjackets (6-12, 3-2 UMAC) are back in action on Wednesday as they host Crown. Tip-off between the Yellowjackets and Polars is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside Mortorelli Gymnasium.
