SUPERIOR, Wis. - Mortorelli Gymnasium was the site of the second matchup this season between the Yellowjacket men's basketball team and North Central this season. The Rams were able to trot past the Yellowjackets, winning 77-62.

In the early stages of the first half, the two squads traded buckets highlighted by three point makes from Evan Benett and Gage Braiedy (Mora, Minn./Mora). The Yellowjackets took their only lead on the afternoon on a Hayden Quimby (Menasha, Wis./Xavier) layup which made the score 15-14.

North Central was able to get their second half lead to as many as 30 points, but Buckets from Caiden Lecce (Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph Catholic), Landen Thomer (Mosinee, Wis./Mosinee) and Nathan Deprez (Kaukauna, Wis./Kaukauna) got the lead to 22.

The Yellowjackets cut the lead further with help from Slayton Stroschein (Alborn, Minn./South Ridge) and Jett Rogowski (Wittenberg, Wis./Wittenberg-Birnamwood), but it was too late as North Central earned the victory.
Superior (5-15, 1-6 UMAC) are next in action Wednesday as they travel to St. Paul to play Northwestern. Tip-off between the Yellowjackets and Eagles in schedule for 7:15 p.m. inside the Ericksen Center.
