DULUTH, Minn. – The Yellowjacket women's tennis team resumed the 2025-26 campaign Saturday, playing host to the Cobbers of Concordia College inside the Duluth Indoor Sports Center (DISC). Superior ended the fall season on a high note with a mark of 5-2, and that momentum would carry over into the spring as they swept Concordia 7-0.
Match Notes
- All three Yellowjacket doubles squads won their matches against their Cobber counterparts. Andreina Tejada (Quito, Ecuador/Isaac Newton) and Claudia Curtis (Hartland, Wis./Lake Mills) won their match 6-3 at the top spot, while Kate Jonas (Annandale, Minn./Annandale) and Anouk Bluemm (Nuremberg, Germany/Wilhelm-Loege Gymnasium) (7-5), alongside Elif Oezen (Rheda-Wiedenbrueck, Germany/Einstein Gymnasium) and Daylyn Drew (Negaunee, Mich./Negaunee) (6-4) would follow in the second and third slots, respectively.
- Tejada took down Tanis Lee 6-2, 7-5 at No. 1 singles, while Bluemm defeated Alyssa Sommerfeld 6-2, 6-0.
- A 6-1, 6-2 win came at Nos. 3 and 4 singles for both Oezen and Curtis, respectively.
- Jonas garnered a 7-6, 6-4 win against Annalise Skrade and Drew wrapped things up with a 6-4, 6-2 mark against her opponent at No. 6 singles.
Superior returns to action Friday where they face Bethel. The opening serve is set for 3 p.m. inside DISC.
