OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Yellowjacket softball team traveled to Oshkosh for day one of the UW-Oshkosh Invitational where they played St. Scholastica and Loras. The Yellowjackets split their two matchups on the day beating the Saints 10-2 in five innings before falling to the Duhawks 9-8 in extras.
Game 1 Notes:

The Yellowjackets scored eight runs in the first three innings with Tessa Twedt (Brookings, S.D./Brookings) and Karen Balabon (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) driving in runs in the second. In the third, Kylle Zwak and Sophia Otto (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) joined the RBI party while Twedt also added two RBIs.
Game 2 Notes:

The Yellowjackets were able to earn their first lead as Larissa Snyder (Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park) launched a home run and Zwak singled to make it 3-2. Loras tied it up again, but another Snyder RBI gave the 'Jackets the lead back.

The Yellowjackets used three pitchers in the game starting with Abby Mitchell (Cloquet, Minn./Carlton), who struck out five before being replaced by Lewis. Samantha Swartz (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) ultimately took the loss in the game pitching three and a third innings.
The Yellowjackets are next in action tomorrow for day two of the UW-Oshkosh Invitational. They play the hosts UW-Oshkosh at 10 a.m. and then Beloit at 2 p.m. at the UW-Oshkosh Rec Plex.
