ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Yellowjacket softball team hit the road for a doubleheader matchup with North Central. The Yellowjackets took care of the Rams in convincing fashion winning game one 23-0 and game two 13-1.  

Game 1 Notes: 

• Larissa Snyder (Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park) opened the scoring, launching a two-run shot to put the 'Jackets up early. 

• In the second Kylie Zwak (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) hit a solo shot before a hit by pitch with the bases loaded scored Delaney Johnson (Ellsworth, Wis./Ellsworth) to make the score 4-0. MyKenzie Leccia (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) a batter later would hit a grand slam to double the Superior lead. Two more runs would come in to score in the inning as Samantha Swartz (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) and Karen Balabon (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) scored.  

• Six more runs would score in the third Carly Stuckmayer (Delano, Minn./Delano) scored. Leccia and Swartz came home on a Balabon single. Balabon, Zwak and Johnson would all come around to score later in the inning to make it 16-0.  

• The Yellowjackets would put up another crooked number in the fourth starting with a Hanna Hovland (Duluth, Minn./Denfeld) home to make the score 17-0.  

• Tessa Twedt (Brookings, S.D./Brookings) would later knock in Stuckmayer and then come around and score along with Megan Witt (Burnsville, Minn./Eagan) on a Zwak RBI single. The final three runs came courtesy of a Kylie Hochsprung (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) home run.  

• Abby Mitchell (Cloquet, Minn./Carlton) pitched all five innings in the circle for Superior, striking out four and only allowing two hits.  

Game 2 Notes: 

• The Yellowjackets again struck first as Peyton Bennett (Harrisburg, S.D./Harrisburg) scored on an RBI groundout by Stuckmayer.  

• The Rams would even the game at one in the first as Erice Gillies singled in a run.  

• Superior regained the lead in the second as Hochsprung, Bennett, and Balabon scored.  

• Four more runs came in the third as Johnson would score on a fielder's choice. Stuckmayer would later clear the bases with a three-run RBI triple.  

• Two more Superior runs came in the fourth as Johnson knocked in Leccia, and Witt scored on an RBI single from Balabon.  

• In the fifth Witt hit an RBI double scoring Leccia and Swartz would score on a single from Johnson. Witt would score later in the inning to make the score 13-1.  

• Bethany Lewis (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) pitched all five innings, allowing one run on four hits while striking out five.  

The Yellowjackets (15-11, 5-3 UMAC) and Rams play again tomorrow with first pitch slated for 11 a.m. at Reynolds Field in St. Paul.
