ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – Saturday the Yellowjacket men's soccer team continued UMAC play, taking on the Polars of Crown College. Despite falling behind within 10 minutes of play, the Yellowjackets responded with three unanswered goals to emerge victorious 3-1.
Match Notes
- Josiah Hoffmann of the Polars opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 10th minute of play.
- During the 42nd minute, Alek Pyrah (London, England/Chiswick School) sent a pass towards Rowan Wagner (McFarland, Wis./McFarland) who sent it home to level the match before halftime.
- Superior would score in the 72nd and 87th minutes of play, as Valentin Soares (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/Colegio Equipe) and Jay'ce Jones (Torrance, Calif./Palisades Charter) would fire goals for Superior, respectively. Pyrah assisted Soares' goal, while Bryce Boldt (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) provided the helper for Jones' second goal of the campaign.
- Superior outshot the Polars 28-2 in the contest.
- Henry Ruhland (River Falls, Wis./River Falls) played a full 90 minutes in net, improving his record to 3-1 on the season.
Superior returns home to face Northwestern on Tuesday, with action beginning at 7 p.m. at SCCU Stadium.
