SUPERIOR, Wis. – On Saturday the Yellowjacket volleyball team got back on the right foot following Friday's loss to RV Northwestern, earning a 3-0 sweep of North Central Saturday.

- Superior gained the upper hand by a 7-3 mark in the opener, seeing kills from Sydney Smith (Milltown, Wis./Unity), Kyndra Peterson (Mounds View, Minn./Irondale) and Makenna Hohbein (Holdingford, Minn./Holdingford). Throughout the remainer of the first, both teams would volley points but UWS maintained an edge throughout, leading to a 25-22 win.
- Hohbein and Kate Jamtgaard (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) kicked off the second set with a pair of kills before Chesney Phillipp (Jacksonville, N.C./Holdingford) joined forces with Hohbein for a block at 7-2. Peterson followed that up with a pair of kills inside of a five-point rally, and alongside offensive efforts from Taylor Tollefson (Pine City, Minn./Pine City), Melissa Hoff (Holmen, Wis./Holmen) and Carlie Lohman (South Range, Wis./Superior), the 'Jackets took home a 25-14 win in the second.
- The Rams took a lead in the final set, but the 'Jackets regained control with kills from Phillipp, Liv Kriewaldt (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) and Tollefson. Hoff dished up a service ace while the 'Jackets later logged five kills in a row before another five point rally led the Yellowjackets to a 25-18 win to complete the sweep.
- Hohbein led with 13 kills, while Peterson (seven) and Jamtgaard (four) followed.
- Defensively, Savanna Hering (Superior, Wis./Superior) carded 16 digs while Hohbein had nine.
- Kenzie Aber (Blaine, Minn./Blaine) led with 13 assists on the day, followed by Lohman's 12.

The 'Jackets (9-3, 1-1 UMAC) continue conference play Friday, where they take on Bethany Lutheran. The opening serve is set for 7 p.m. at North Gym.
