2021: Named All-UMAC honorable mention ... Batted .289 (28-for-97) in 30 games, including 27 starts at first base and designated hitter ... Tied for the team lead with five home runs, was second on the team with 24 RBIs and nine doubles with a .869 OPS and .536 slugging percentage ... Led the team with seven multiple-RBI games ... Also had eight multi-hit games, a five-game hitting streak (6-for-16, .375) and reached base in 11 consecutive games ... Went 3-for-5 with a a career-high two home runs and six RBIs in a 13-1 victory over Martin Luther on May 8 ... Also belted homers against Northland on March 20, North Central on April 10 and Hamline on April 21.
 
2020: Started the second game of a doubleheader against Grinnell on March 7, going 0-for-2 with a hit-by-pitch and strikeout, before the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown.

2019: Played in 13 games, starting three, as a sophomore ... Batted .059 with one hit in 17 at-bats ... Scored one run and was hit by one pitch ... Stole one base on the season.

2018: Played in 21 games, starting 13 in freshman campaign ... Had nine hits in 37 at-bats for a .243 batting average ... Had five hits and two RBIs versus Northwestern April 20 ... Solid defensively, making just three errors in 89 chances for a .967 fielding percentage.

Before UWS: Son of Trina and Nick Castaneda ... Native of San Pedro, Calif. ... Graduate of Junipero Serra High School in 2017 ... Named an Under Armour preseason All-American as a senior for the Cavaliers ... Played internationally in Puerto Rico ... Father Nick was drafted out of San Pedro High School in the eighth round of the 1980 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft to the Pittsburgh Pirates, and played 14 seasons in the minor leagues, both in the United States and Mexico  ... Exercise Science major with a Community Health Promotion concentration and Coaching and Sports Management minors at UW-Superior.
