2023-24 Indoor: Competed in eight meets ... Named the indoor field athlete of the meet for the second-straight season ... Opened the season with a first-place finish during the 5,000-meters at the CSS Opener with a 15:45.52 ... Took fourth in the mile after clocking a 4:34.83 ... Earned the top spot at the Lake Superior Challenge (9:13.31, 3,000-meters) and the Maday Classic (15:52.98, 5,000-meters) ... Took first in all three events during the UMAC Championships, including the mile, 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter races ... Named UMAC Academic All-Conference.
2024 Outdoor: Competed in the Hamline Invitational, taking 15th place in the 5,000-meter race with a 16:10.27 ... Named UMAC Academic All-Conference.

2022-23 Indoor: Competed in seven meets ... Finished second in the 800-meter dash and the mile race (2:07.99 and 4:33.63, respectively) at the CSS Opener ... Ran his best 3,000-meter time at the Warren Bowlus, clocking a 9:00.99 ... Notched another second place finish at the Lake Superior Challenge in the mile for a 4:30.77 time ... Swept the field in three events at the UMAC Championships (mile, 5,000-meter and distance medley relay), earning Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honors.
2023 Outdoor: Competed in four meets ... Finished first in the 5,000-meter dash with a 16:23.92 finish at the SMU Cardinal Invitational ... Capped his outdoor season at the UMAC Championships, clocking a 10:38.48 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase for second place, along with a fifth place finish in the 5,000-meter dash with a 16:46.56.

2021-22 Indoor: Competed in seven meets ... Won the 5,000-meter dash in 16:49.67 at The Opener at St. Scholastica on Dec. 11 ... Named UMAC Track Athlete of the Week Dec. 13 ...  Finished second in the pole vault at the UMAC championships with a vault of 3.25 meters to earn All-UMAC honors.
2022 Outdoor: Competed in six meets ... Won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in the Saint John's Last-Minute Invitational April 29 in 10:40.32 ... Won the steeplechase at the UMAC championships in a career-best time of 10:13.41 and finished second in the 5,000 meters in 16:53.13 to earn All-UMAC honors on May 6-7.

Before UWS: Son of Allison and Bruce Butterfield ... Has three siblings, Carrissa, AJ and Amber ... Ran cross country and track for Greenway High School, graduating in 2021 ... Part of five Iron Range Conference championships, including four in cross country and one in track and field ... Helped Greenway to two section titles in cross country and one in track and field ... Qualified for five state meets in his career, winning six individual conference championships ... Honor-roll student at Greenway ... Exercise Science major and Sports Management minor at UW-Superior.
