Champion ‘Jackets to contend again

2018-19 Schedule | 2017-18 Statistics

SUPERIOR, Wis. (June 14, 2018) – Yellowjacket men's soccer successfully took their first UMAC Championship last season, beating the St. Scholastica in overtime. In 2018-19, the 'Jackets look to contend for the UMAC Championship once again.

The Yellowjackets begin their season with two away contests with solid teams. Superior will start with an exhibition at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Mich., followed by a rematch with a St. Thomas team they faced in the NCAA DIII Regionals at the end of last season.

The 'Jackets will move into a tough stretch of games with MIAC and IIAC teams Sept. 2-11, playing five games. The team will open UMAC play on Sept. 15 in a road contest with St. Scholastica and then will head down to North Central for a game on Sept. 18.

September will hold three more UMAC Contests, including a back-to-back battle with Bethany Lutheran, first on the road Sept. 26 and then at home Sept. 29.

Superior will begin October with a Hamline team that was 12-6-1 last season; the 'Jackets will look for revenge as they surrendered a tight 2-1 loss at home in the NBC Sports Complex. Four conference games will close out the home schedule, playing Crown, St. Scholastica, Martin Luther, and North Central.

Two road games close out the schedule, playing Northland in Ashland, Wis. Oct. 24, and then Minnesota Morris in Morris, Minn. Oct. 27.

The UMAC Championship will take place Oct. 29-Nov. 3.

August 24 marks the beginning of the season with the exhibition game in Marquette, Mich.
