INDIANAPOLIS: The UW-Superior women's basketball team moved up to No. 6 in the latest NCAA Division III West Regional rankings, released Wednesday.

The Yellowjackets are 22-2 overall and 21-2 in games against teams in the region.

The rankings will ultimately be used to determine the NCAA tournament field.

St. Thomas (22-1) leads the rankings, followed by Wartburg (20-3), George Fox (20-3), Loras (19-4) and Augsburg (19-4). Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (20-2) and Whitman (18-5) sit behind the 'Jackets in seventh and eighth, respectively.

Superior travels to North Central Saturday at 3 p.m. A victory against the Rams would give UWS the outright regular-season UMAC championship.
