SAINT PAUL, Minn.: UW-Superior senior thrower C.J. Pillath (Coleman, Wis./Coleman) claimed Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Monday.
 
Pillath recorded a personal best of 15.37 meters (50 feet, five inches) in the shot put to finish seventh in the St. Olaf Tostrud Classic Saturday. The mark represents the first time in his career he has eclipsed the 50-foot barrier in the event.
 
Pillath also finshed third in the weight throw with a heave of 16.62 meters.
 
The weekly honor is the fourth of the season for Pillath. He also won it Jan. 14, Jan. 21 and 2Jan. 28.
 
The Yellowjackets head to St. Scholastica for the UMAC Championships Friday and Saturday. Events at the Burns Wellness Commons in Duluth begins at 2:30 p.m., Friday and 11 a.m., Saturday.
