Maya Callaway (Duluth, Minn./East) won her match at No. 5 singles, but the UW-Superior women's tennis team fell, 8-1, to Macalester at Lifetime Fitness Saturday.
Callaway topped Macalester's Rainah Ward, 6-0, 6-2, to earn the 'Jackets only point of the day.
UWS (0-2) did play a pair tiebreakers in doubles with
Megan Dulong (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) and Callaway dropping a 7-5 breaker on court two to Lauren Hickey and Claire Buehler. At No. 3 doubles,
Emily Wald (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) and
Kitana Honkola (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert) lost, 9-7, in a tiebreaker to Camilla Bendetti and Ward.
The Yellowjackets return to the court next Saturday against Concordia (Minn.) in Fargo, N.D.
