SUPERIOR, Wis. –The UW-Superior men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Northwestern to end the regular season Friday at the Yellowjackets Outdoor Tennis Complex.
The match was tighter than the score indicated, as there were a total of four tiebreakers – all in singles play.
The 'Jackets won one doubles match and one singles match to account for their points.
Brady Anderson (Fergus Falls, Minn./Fergus Falls) and
Gavin Mangan (Henderson, Nev./Basic Academy) beat UNW's Matthew Wedin and Colton Paskewitz at No. 3 doubles to tie the match at 1-1. The Eagles won on court one to head into singles up, 2-1.

Harry Simpson (Derby, England/Derby Moor Academy) beat Tyrus Studer, 6-2, 6-2, on court four to cut the deficit to 3-2.
Leonardo Paredes (Uberlandia, Brazil/Colegio Sao Paschoall) took Dan Pfaf to a third-set tiebreaker on No. 2, only to fall, 11-9. Paredes forced the breaker by winning the second set, 6-4, after dropping the first, 6-1.
With the match already decided at 6-2, Anderson kept fighting on court six. He battled Isaac Velgersdyk in a first-set tiebreaker, losing, 7-4, before claiming the second set 6-2 to force a deciding third-set tiebreaker. Anderson fell there, 11-9.
With the loss UWS drops to 7-10 overall and 5-2 in the UMAC. The win moves Northwestern to 14-7 and 6-0 in the league.
