EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The UW-Superior women's tennis team fell, 9-0, at UW-Eau Claire Saturday.
The Blugolds dropped just three total games in doubles action with
Grace Nelson (New London, Wis./New London) and
Kallie Olson (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert Senior) taking two from Eau Claire's Morgan Nelson and Natalie Girard on court three.
Maya Callaway (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) and
Chiyono Owa (Tokyo, Japan/Otsuma Nakano Senior) won a game against Lindsey Henderson and Elaine Franta at the top flight.
In singles play, the Yellowjackets won six total games. Callaway fell in her opening set, 6-3, to Emily Cooper, who won the second set, 6-1.
Emily Wald (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) and
Grace Nelson (New London, Wis./New London) each took games from their respective opponents, as well.
UWS returns home to face Bethany Lutheran in non-conference action Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
