Box Score JEFFERSON, Wis. – The UW-Superior women's tennis team played in the consolation doubles draw to conclude play in the ITA Midwest Regional at Jefferson High School on Saturday.
 
Juniors Maya Callaway (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) and Kallie Olson (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert Senior) won their first-round match, 8-4, topping Maeryn Shepherd and Callie Belschner of Edgewood to advance. Callaway and Olson fell in the second round by the same score to Taylar Smith and Elli Dodge of Northwestern.
 
The freshmen pair of Kaytlyn Syverson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) and Shelby Hanson (Albert Lea, Minn./Albert Lea Senior) also won its first-round match, 8-3, over Gigi Kuecker and Maggie Burgmeier of Edgewood. Syverson and Shelby Hanson (Albert Lea, Minn./Albert Lea Senior) fell in the second round, 8-7 (2), to Makenzie Robinson and Mary Shogren from UW-Eau Claire.
 
Sophomore Chiyono Owa (Tokyo, Japan/Otsuma Nakano Senior) and freshman Lainey Zurn (Almena, Wis./Barron) dropped their first-round match to Hamline's Lily Vang and Taylor Vyskocil, 8-3.
 
The Yellowjackets open the spring season Feb. 5 at Macalester.
