WINONA, Minn. – Maya Callaway (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) earned the UW-Superior women's tennis team's lone point in an 8-1 defeat to Saint Mary's at the Winona Tennis Center on Friday.
 
Callaway Cardinals' Natalie Peterson, 5-7, 6-2, 10-7, in No. 1 singles action as the Yellowjackets fell to 1-3 on the season.
 
The freshman duo of Shelby Hanson (Albert Lea, Minn./Albert Lea Senior) and Kaytlyn Syverson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) played tough court two, falling to Emily Henderson and Maddie Dosser, 8-6.
 
Henderson then topped Hanson at No. 4 singles in three sets, 5-7, 6-4, 10-4.
 
 The Yellowjackets close the weekend with a noon match with Loras on Saturday.
