WINONA, Minn. – The UW-Superior women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to Loras at the Winona Tennis Center on Saturday.
Maya Callaway (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) won both of her matches to lead the Yellowjackets' effort. Callaway and
Chiyono Owa (Tokyo, Japan/Otsuma Nakano Senior) defeated Isabel Schwabe and Caroline Hutchinson at No. 1 doubles, while Callaway topped Schwabe, 6-0, 6-2, atop the singles lineup.
Superior's other victory came from freshman
Kaytlyn Syverson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) in a tiebreaker. Syverson outlasted Clair Mooreon court two, 3-6, 7-5, 10-2.
Loras moves to 7-4 on the season with the match win while Superior falls to 1-5.
UWS is back in action March 14 against Roger Williams in Orlando, Fla., at the USTA National Campus.
