ORLANDO, Fla. -- The UW-Superior women's tennis team dropped a pair of matches to UW-La Crosse and Carthage, 9-0 and 8-0, respectively, on Wednesday.
The Yellowjackets won just 11 total games against the Eagles with freshman
Shelby Hanson (Albert Lea, Minn./Albert Lea Senior) taking three in the second set on court four versus Morgan Graf.
Kaytlyn Syverson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) and Hanson also won two games at No. 2 doubles against Kellie Hierl and Susi Hu in an 8-2 loss.
Superior won 19 games against the Firebirds in that sweep. Hanson and Syverson took three from Giovanna Mendes and Sasha Manojlovic at No. 2 doubles.
Syverson also took four games at No. 2 singles against Sierra Sonnemaker before that match was halted in the second set.
The Yellowjackets are off Thursday. They return to the court with two more matches Friday against Franciscan and Colby-Sawyer.
