ATLANTA, Ga. – Saturday marked the second day of the 2022 Emory University Spring Break Classic, and the Yellowjacket men's track and field team was looking to build on a solid first day of competition Friday.

The throwers had a great day for the Yellowjackets Saturday.
Gage Stankiewicz (Esko, Minn./Esko) was the winner in the discus, hitting a mark of 45.46 meters. Not far behind him was
Nate Ohman (Lake Nebagamon, Wis./Northwestern), who finished fourth with a throw of 41.14 meters. Ohman's mark was a new personal record.

Stankiewicz also reached the podium in the shot put, placing second with a heave of 14.20 meters. Ohman once again was not far behind his teammate, finishing sixth with a mark of 12.94 meters.

In the running events
Tyler Finger (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) was the runner-up in the 3,000 meter run, coming across the line with a time of 9:01.19, establishing a new personal record for the senior.

Other notable performances for the Yellowjacket men came from
Ethan Westimayer (Laona, Wis./Laona), who placed 12th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.50 seconds. Teammate
Will Schorr (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) was not far behind with a time of 11.74 meters.

Kieran Johnson (South Range, Wis./Northwestern) finished the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:46.41, and
Steven Pearson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) finished the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.97 seconds.

The Yellowjackets return to action Saturday, Apr. 2 when they travel to St. Paul, Minn. to compete in the Hamline University Invitational.
