MANKATO, Minn. --Â The UW-Superior women's tennis team defeated Bethany Lutheran, 7-2, on Sunday on the road to stay perfect in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.

Megan Dulong (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids Senior) and
Chiyono Owa (Tokyo, Japan/Otsuma Nakano Senior) and
Kallie Olson (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert Senior) and
Kaytlyn Syverson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) won their doubles matches at Nos. 1 and 3, respectively. Dulong and Owa topped Shoshana Bruner and Emma Newton, 8-5, while Olson and Syverson beat Olaitz Azkue and Audrey Kennedy, 8-0.

Maya Callaway (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) beat Bruner, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 1 singles. Dulong dispatched Olivia Pfeffer, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3.

Owa beat Kaitlyn Berreau, 6-1, 6-3 on court four,
Shelby Hanson (Albert Lea, Minn./Albert Lea Senior) defeated Azkue, 6-2, 6-3, on No. 5 and
Lainey Zurn (Almena, Wis./Barron) beat Kennedy, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.

The Yellowjackets moved to 4-12 overall and 3-0 in the league with the win while Bethany Lutheran fell to 0-8 and 0-4 in the UMAC.

Superior returns to action next Tuesday, April 19 against Northwestern at 4 p.m., at home.
