ST. PAUL, Minn. --Â Freshman thrower
Gage Stankiewicz (Esko, Minn./Esko) won the shot put in the Hamline Invitational at Klas Field on Saturday as the UW-Superior men's track ad field team posted eight top-10 finishes and numerous personal bests on the day.

Stankiewicz's mark of 14.93 meters in the shot put topped a field of 31 competitors by more than half meter.  Junior
Nate Ohman (Lake Nebagamon, Wis./Northwestern) was sixth in the event with a toss of 12.94 meters, matching his effort from the season-opening Emory Spring Break Classic on March 18-19. Â

Stankiewicz also finished eighth in the discus with a heave of 39.02 meters.Â

Other top-10 finishes came from sophomore
Ethan Westimayer (Laona, Wis./Laona), who was sixth overall in the 200-meter dash in 22.30. Junior
Steven Pearson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) placed ninth in that event in a time of 22.81.

Iain Matheson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) was also ninth in the 400 meters in 51.79.Â

Earl Foster (Forest Lake, Minn./Spectrum) placed ninth in the javelin throw at 43.18 meters.

Tanner Lee (Siren, Wis./Siren) finished 10th in the hammer throw with a distance of 41.09 meters.Â
