Andre Luiz de Melo Guedes (Brasilia, Brazil/Centro de Ensino Médio Paulo Freire) won at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles, but St. Olaf stopped the UW-Superior men's tennis team's five-match winning streak with a 6-3 non-conference victory at the Yellowjackets Outdoor Tennis Complex on Saturday.

Gergo Potz Nagy (Budapest, Hungary/Veres Pálné Secondary Grammar School), 8-5, knotted the dual match at 1-1. Luiz de Melo Guedes' singles win, 6-1, 6-1, over Henry Smith cut the St. Olaf lead to 5-3.
Carter LaMont (Villard, Minn./Minnewaska Area) earned Superior's other match win on the day, a grueling 7-6 (7-4), 1-6, 1-0 (10-7) victory against Jakub Belik at No. 6.
In all, UWS played seven tiebreakers on the day.
Michael Janes (Bismarck, N.D./Legacy) dropped his No. 1 singles encounter with Lorenzo Cazzamali, 6-7 (4-7), 7-5 1-0 (10-7). Potz Nagy lost a 6-7 (4-7), 6-4 1-0 (10-4) decision to Ethan Bruhaat No. 3.
Jace Gilbertson (Menomonie, Wis./Menomonie Senior) played a second-set tiebreak with Tim Roback on court five, falling 5-7, 6-7 (3-7).
The Yellowjackets drop to 8-5 on the season with the loss while St. Olaf improves to 4-4.
UWS heads to Bethany Lutheran Sunday for a 1 p.m. Upper Midwest Athletic Conference match.
