Box Score ST. PETER, Minn.  – The UW-Superior women's tennis team opened play in the 2022 ITA Midwest Regional Championships on Friday at the Swanson Tennis Center.
 
Junior Haley Quick (Kenosha, Wis./Indian Trail High School and Academy) opened the day in the ITA singles draw with a 6-0, 6-0 loss to Renata Hernandez of Gustavus Adolphus.
 
Freshman Andreina Tejada (Quito, Ecuador/Isaac Newton) also fell, 6-0, 6-0 in the ITA singles bracket to Morgan Nelson of UW-Eau Claire.
 
In Gustie Invite singles play, freshman Brooke Wilfong (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) dropped an 8-5 decision to Claudia Bilkey of Coe, freshman Daylyn Drew (Negaunee, Mich./Negaunee) lost to Sydney Marin of Grinnell, 8-4, freshman Courtney Brandt (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids Senior) lost to Ashley Stroebel of Gustavus, 8-0, and freshman Marina Dostal (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet Senior) lost to Sarah Ferguson of UW-Whitewater, 8-0.
 
The tournament continues Saturday with doubles action beginning at 9 a.m.
