Josef Fahrenholtz (Chatfield, Minn./Chatfield) has been named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week in men's basketball, the league announced Monday.

Fahrenholtz averaged 18.5 points and five rebounds per game in wins at Crown and Minnesota Morris Friday and Saturday. He scored 18 points and had five rebounds in the 86-75 win over the Polars and followed that with 19 points and five boards in the 72-66 victory against the Cougars as UWS moved to 4-1 in the UMAC, grabbing a share of the league lead.

Fahrenholtz shot 18-for-35 (51.4 percent) for the week.

The UMAC weekly honor is the first of his career.

Fahrenholtz is currently fourth in the conference in scoring (15.8 points per game) and seventh in rebounding (7.0 rebounds per game). He is also sixth in field goal percentage (49.5).

Winner of five consecutive games, UWS (8-6) has won five consecutive games and is back in action Tuesday at Finlandia. Tip-off at the Paavo Nurmi Center in Hancock, Mich., is set for 3 p.m., CT.
