SUPERIOR, Wis. -- Junior
Earl Foster (Forest Lake, Minn./Spectrum) won the 60- and 200-meter hurdles for the UW-Superior men's track and field team on Saturday in the Twin Ports Open at the Dr. Lydia C. Thering Fieldhouse.
Foster ran 8.87 seconds in the in the 60 hurdles and 26.46 seconds in the 200 hurdles as the Yellowjackets hosted their first indoor meet of the season.
Sophomore
Gage Stankiewicz (Esko, Minn./Esko) also captured the weight-throw title in 15.79 meters with
Nate Ohman (Lake Nebagamon, Wis./Northwestern) taking fourth with a throw of 14.83. Stankiewicz was fourth in the shot put at 14.80 meters with Ohman finishing sixth at 13.00 meters
Junior
Kevin Hufziger (Macedon, N.Y./Penfield) was second in the 3,000 meters in a time of 8:40.36 with sophomore
Michael Butterfield (Bovey, Minn./Greenway) running sixth in 9:08.10.
Sophomore
Garrett Lynch (Portage, Wis./Portage) finished third in the pole vault with a mark of 3.90 meters, leading two others in the top 10. Junior
Kieran Johnson (South Range, Wis./Northwestern) had a mark of 2.85 meters for ninth place, while freshman
Isaac Hanson (Hayward, Wis./Hayward) was 10th in 2.70 meters.
Ethan Westimayer (Laona, Wis./Laona) was fifth in the 200 meters at 23.10 and
Zach Reese (Zimmerman, Minn./Spectrum) was fifth in the 800 meters in 2:07.56.
Iain Matheson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) placed sixth in the 400 at 52.57.
David Collins (Ironwood, Mich./Luther L. Wright) ran eighth in the mile in 4:40.70.
UWS returns to action next Friday and Saturday in the Warren Bowlus Open at UW-Stout at 3 p.m., and noon, respectively.
