MENOMONIE, Wis. -- Sophomore
Garrett Lynch (Portage, Wis./Portage) and junior
Earl Foster (Forest Lake, Minn./Spectrum) competed in the heptathlon for the UW-Superior men's track and field team at the Warren Bowlus Open at UW-Stout's Sports and Fitness Center on Friday.
Lynch finished 11th overall with 2,477 points and Foster was 18th with 1,499 points. Lynch was seventh in three separate events. He ran 7.37 seconds in the 60-meter dash, threw the shot put 11.00 meters and cleared 1.83 meters in the high jump -- all for seventh-place finishes.
Foster's top performances came in the 60 meters and shot put, respectively. He ran 7.67 seconds in the 60 and had a mark of 8.76 meters in the shot put for a pair of 16th-place finishes.
R.J. Bosshart leads the heptathlonwith 2,882 total points.
The Yellowjackets are back in action Saturday on day two of the Warren Bowlus Open, beginning at noon.
