Yellowjackets Announce 2024 Baseball Schedule

SUPERIOR, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Superior baseball team released its schedule for the 2024 season in an announcement Tuesday. After skippering the program to its first-ever season with 20 wins and a record above .500 for the first time since 1975, Yellowjacket head coach TJ Oakes aims to continue the program's success in pursuit of an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) championship.
 
The Yellowjackets begin the campaign with a three-game series against Augsburg. Saturday, Mar. 2 will serve as a doubleheader and Sunday will be a single 9-inning game. Following the series, the 'Jackets will once again take part in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational Mar. 9-17.

UW-Superior will commence the spring trip Sunday, Mar. 10 with a doubleheader against Concordia College (Minn.), with a first pitch of 8:45 a.m. CT. Monday the 'Jackets face off against the Blue Devils of UW-Stout at 8:30 a.m. CT before facing Beloit College on Tuesday at 8 a.m. CT. Following an off day, the Yellowjackets will play a doubleheader against Dickinson, commencing at 2:15 p.m. CT. To round out the trip, the 'Jackets will play Stockton Mar. 15 at 12:30 p.m. CT before capping the RussMatt Invitational with a contest against William Paterson at 8:45 a.m. CT.
 
UWS returns to the Midwest and hits the road for 13-straight games, beginning with a three-game series against Northland to open UMAC action. Friday, March 22 both teams will play a nine-inning game beginning at 3 p.m., which will be followed by a doubleheader on March 23 that commences at 2 p.m. The 'Jackets will play a mid-week doubleheader against Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) competitor Saint Mary's at Max Molock Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
 
The 'Jackets continue UMAC action, traveling to New Ulm, Minn., to face Martin Luther March 29-30. Friday's game at MLC Field is set for a 3 p.m. start, and Saturday's doubleheader is slated for 2 p.m. UWS will then face Crown on Friday, April 5 for a single game at 3 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. Both games will take place at Missile Park. To close the road series, the Yellowjackets travel to Saint Paul for a mid-week doubleheader against another MIAC foe in Macalester. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
 
The Yellowjackets are scheduled to play their first home games at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex against North Central. Game time on April 12 is set for a 3 p.m. start, while the doubleheader on April 13 has a first-pitch time of 2 p.m. The following day, the 'Jackets will travel to play St. John's for a 1 p.m. start at Becker Park.
 
UWS and Minnesota Morris will meet April 20-21 at Wade Stadium for a three-game series. Saturday's first pitch is slated for 7 p.m., while Sunday's doubleheader is set to begin at 12 p.m. Wednesday, April 24 the Yellowjackets will return to Wade Stadium to face bridge-rival St. Scholastica for a nine-inning game. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
 
The 'Jackets stay on the road as they face Northwestern April 26-27. Friday's game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start, while Saturday's first pitch time is 2 p.m. In their final non-conference game of the season, the Yellowjackets return to Wade Stadium to face St. Scholastica on April 29 with a 4 p.m. start.
 
To round out the regular season, UWS faces off with the reigning UMAC Champions from Bethany Lutheran May 3-4. Friday's game is set for a 3 p.m. start and Saturday's games begin with a first-pitch time of 2 p.m.
 
UW-Superior finished the 2023 season with an overall record of 21-15 and a conference mark of 16-5, making it to the UMAC Tournament for the eighth-straight season.
