UPERIOR, Wis. -- Senior
Ethan Westimayer (Laona, Wis./Laona), junior
Earl Foster (Forest Lake, Minn./Spectrum) and sophomore
Garrett Lynch (Portage, Wis./Portage) each won individual events for the UW-Superior men's track and field team as the Yellowjackets hosted the second-annual Maday Classic at Dr. Lydia C. Thering Fieldhouse on Saturday.
Westimayer won the 200 meters in a school-record 22.95 seconds, Foster took the 200-meter hurdles in 26.72 seconds and Lynch claimed the pole vault title with a mark of 4.30 meters.
Iain Matheson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) was second in the 400 meters in 53.13 and third in the 200, behind Westimayer, in 23.25.
Sophomore
Michael Butterfield (Bovey, Minn./Greenway) placed second in the 5,000 meters in 15:21.75.
Foster was second in the pole vault with a vault of 3.40 meters and
Isaac Hanson (Hayward, Wis./Hayward) was third at 3.10 meters.
Jordan Goldfine (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) finished second in the triple jump at 11.67 meters and
Steven Pearson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) was third with a mark of 11.65 meters.
Aidan Doherty (Wild Rose, Wis./Wild Rose) led a group of three Yellowjackets in the 800 meters in fourth place in 2:01.83.
David Collins (Ironwood, Mich./Luther L. Wright) was fifth in 2:03.49 and
Zach Reese (Zimmerman, Minn./Spectrum) was sixth in 2:04.20.
Nate Ohman (Lake Nebagamon, Wis./Northwestern) was sixth in the weight throw at 14.95 meters and seventh in he shot put at 13.70 meters.
The Yellowjackets return to action at Bethel's Gene Glader Classic next Saturday at 10 a.m.
