DULUTH, Minn. --Â The UW-Superior men's track and field team achieved 22 personal records at the Lake Superior Challenge hosted by St. Scholastica on Saturday at Burns Wellness Commons.

The Yellowjackets won three events on the day, with
Garrett Lynch (Portage, Wis./Portage) taking the pole vault,
Earl Foster (Forest Lake, Minn./Spectrum) taking he 60-metere hurdles and
Ben Babcock (Blue Earth, Minn./Blue Earth Area) winning the long jump. Lynch won the pole vault in 3.98 meters, Foster took the 60 hurdles in 8.74 seconds and Babcock took the long jump in 6.21 meters -- all personal records.

Superior earned a clean sweep in the long jump with
Steven Pearson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior),
Will Schorr (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) and
Jordan Goldfine (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) putting up marks of 6.15 meters, 5.99 meters and 5.99 meters, respectively to finish second-fourth.

The 'Jackets went 2-3-4-5-6 in the mile run with
Michael Butterfield (Bovey, Minn./Greenway) (4:30.77) finishing second,
Aidan Doherty (Wild Rose, Wis./Wild Rose) (4:36.77)third,
David Collins (Ironwood, Mich./Luther L. Wright) (4:38.6) fourth,
Zach Reese (Zimmerman, Minn./Spectrum) (4:40.43) fifth andÂ
Kieran Johnson (South Range, Wis./Northwestern) (4:56.77) sixth, all personal records.

Sophomore
Iain Matheson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) ran the fourth fastest indoor 400-meter time in his career at 52.29 to finish third in that event.
Ethan Westimayer (Laona, Wis./Laona) was fifth with a PR of 52.85 and Garret Kroells was eighth in 56.66.

Collins was second in the 800 meters in 2:10.28, followed by
Kevin Hufziger (Macedon, N.Y./Penfield) in third with a PR of 2:30.50.

Babcock had a PR in the triple jump at 12.17 meters for second overall and Matheson, Ethan owe, Golfine and
Isaac Hanson (Hayward, Wis./Hayward) each posted PRs in the 200 meters. Matheson was sixh in 23.25, Bowe was 12th in 24.29, Goldfine was 14th in 24.74 and Hanson was 16th in 26.28.Â

Doherty and Reese finished seventh and eighth respectively in the 3,000 meters in personal-record times of 9:56.14 and 9:56.18.Â

Nate Ohman (Lake Nebagamon, Wis./Northwestern) finished second in the weight throw with a mark of 14.31 meters and
Gage Stankiewicz (Esko, Minn./Esko) was fourth at 14.27 meters.

The Yellowjackets host the second-annual Maday Classic next Saturday at 11 a.m.
