Yellowjacket Track and Field Teams Earn USTFCCCA Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The University of Wisconsin-Superior men's and women's track and field teams were named 2023 All-Academic Teams by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), it has been announced.
 
For a team to be named an NCAA Division III All-Academic Team, a team grade point average of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least 3.1 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester.
 
A total of 167 men's teams and 219 women's teams in NCAA Division III reached the grade point average bench mark.
 
The Yellowjacket men's track and field team achieved a grade point average of 3.245 during the 2022-23 year. The Yellowjacket women were slightly better than the men, accumulating a combined grade point average of 3.389.
 
In 2022-23, the Yellowjacket women's track and field team made history, winning the program's first-ever Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) championship during the indoor track and field season, while placing second during the outdoor season. The men's team won both the UMAC indoor and outdoor championships once again. It was the seventh straight indoor title for the Yellowjackets, while the outdoor championship was the second in a row and sixth in the last seven years.
