SUPERIOR, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Superior women's tennis team revealed its schedule for the 2023-24 season in an announcement Thursday. In a season that features the team's third appearance at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional, head coach CeeJay Schaffner is seeking to compete for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) title.
 
The Yellowjackets commence their season Sept. 17 as they face UW-River Falls at 12 p.m. in Menomonie, Wis., followed by a match against UW-Stout at 3 p.m.
 
UW-Superior will return to the ITA Midwest Regional Sept. 22-25 on the campus of UW-Whitewater. Sept. 30 the 'Jackets will compete against St. Norbert and UW-Oshkosh, with match times at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectfully.
 
Dual-match play begins for the Yellowjackets Feb. 3 as they face Macalester at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis, Minn., before facing Bethel Feb. 10 at Rogers Tennis Center in Rogers, Minn.
 
UWS competes in its first home matches of the season Feb. 16-18. On the 16th the 'Jackets face off against bridge-rival St. Scholsatica at 5 p.m. The 17th features the Pointers from UW-Stevens Point at 12 p.m., and the 18th the Yellowjackets compete against Concordia (Minn.) at 10 a.m. All matches will take place at the Duluth Indoor Sports Center.
 
The 'Jackets are slated for three matches on its annual spring trip to Florida, featuring North Central (Ill.) on March 11 and Marywood and UW-La Crosse March 14. For its last non-conference match before conference play, UW-Superior competes against Saint Mary's Apr. 7 in Rochester, Minn.
 
The Yellowjackets begin their conference slate Apr. 13 against Northwestern. First serve is set for 11 a.m. at William Zane Johnson Tennis Complex. One week later, the 'Jackets travel to face Bethany Lutheran.
 
The last four regular season matches for the Yellowjackets will take place at the Yellowjacket Outdoor Tennis Complex. On Apr. 21 the 'Jackets face off against Crown and Martin Luther at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively. For the regular season finale, the Cougars from Minnesota Morris come to Superior for a 2 p.m. start.
 
The Yellowjackets finished the 2022-23 season 10-13 overall and 7-3 in conference play, advancing to the first round of the UMAC tournament for the third consecutive season.
