OSHKOSH, Wis. – Two members of the Yellowjacket women's track and field team saw action at the UW-Oshkosh Multi Friday, marking the season-opener for the 2024-25 indoor season.
The freshmen duo of
Riley Toivonen (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) and
Bel Dimaze (Monticello, Minn./Spectrum) made their collegiate debuts inside the Kolf Sports Center, competing in the pentathlon on the afternoon.
After competing in the 60-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and the 800-meter dash, Dimaze ended Friday ranked 18th overall with 2,048 points, while Toivonen sits with 1,456 points in 19th place.
Dimaze claimed her best finish in the high jump, finishing eighth overall with a mark of 1.47 meters. The long jump saw her end with a 4.70-meter finish in 11th place, while she claimed a pair of 17th place finishes in the 800-meter race (3:10.16) and the shot put (6.33 meters). Furthermore, she finished the 60-meter hurdles in 11.80 seconds.
Toivonen garnered a pair of 18th place finishes in the shot put and long jump, sitting with 6.26 and 3.92 meters, respectively. She wrapped up the 60-meter hurdles in 11.17 seconds while leaping 1.26 meters in the high jump.
Leading the way with 3,576 points was Thea Ring of North Park.
The Yellowjackets return to action next Saturday, seeing action at the CSS Early Bird on the campus of St. Scholastica. Action inside the Burns Wellness Commons starts at 11 a.m.
