SUPERIOR, Wis. – The Yellowjacket women's tennis team played on its home court for the first time this season Sunday, hosting both Crown College and Martin Luther College in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play at the Lydia Thering Fieldhouse.
Â
It's been a special season for the Yellowjacket women, and with a pair of wins Sunday, they would inch closer to claiming the first conference championship in program history.
Â
Safe to say, the 'Jackets took care of business and in the process helped head coach
CeeJay Schaffner reach a career milestone.
Â
The Yellowjackets picked up a pair of clean sweeps Sunday, defeating Crown and Martin Luther by identical 9-0 scores, improving to 14-8 overall and 4-0 in the UMAC. As for Schaffner, the wins Sunday gave him 100 victories (men and women combined) as head coach at UW-Superior.
