Four Yellowjackets Tabbed to CSC Academic All-District Baseball List

SUPERIOR, Wis. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) revealed another round of academic awards in an announcement Tuesday, and the baseball all-district list saw four Yellowjackets receive recognition.

Sophomores Aiden Pfeifer (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie), Brian O'Dwyer (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove Senior) and Noah Dagostino (Andover, Minn./Andover) received the honors alongside junior Payton Steiner (Baraboo, Wis./Baraboo).

The College Sports Communicators (formerly known as College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-America® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom, separately recognizing baseball student-athletes in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be eligible for nomination consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and be a starter or key contributor on their respective team.

Pfeifer, a Communications major who boasts a 3.60 grade point average, enjoyed a sophomore season that saw him receive regional awards on top of a first team selection from the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). Throwing 60 innings as a starting pitcher, he garnered a 7-2 record alongside a 2.25 earned run average. Pfeifer fanned 47 batters and gave up just 46 hits, restraining opposing hitters to hitting at a .209 clip.

O'Dwyer holds a 3.91 grade point average as an Economics major. Collecting an honorable mention tab from the UMAC, he finished the season with a batting average of .302, accumulating 38 total hits. Thirteen of O'Dwyer's base knocks were for extra bases, finishing with a team-fourth 28 RBIs. His offense was highly prominent from Mid-March through Mid-May, as he produced a ten-game hitting streak. Defensively O'Dwyer fielded .928 while apart of five double plays.

Dagostino, who sits with a 3.87 grade point average while majoring in Physical Education, finished 2024 with a batting average of .322. Collecting 46 hits and scoring 29 runs, he boasted a .378 slugging percentage coupled with a .384 on-base percentage. Furthermore, he stands atop the Yellowjacket and UMAC standings in the stolen base category with 21. Defensively he made just three errors in 64 putouts, accumulating a .977 fielding percentage.

Steiner studies Physical Education and manages a 3.81 grade point average. His junior season featured him hit .343, sitting second on the team while clubbing a team-best 47 hits. Steiner collected six triples on the campaign, which leads both the circuit and the Yellowjacket leaderboards. Manning right field, he finished with 85 putouts and a fielding percentage of .977. His most notable offensive output came at the end of March, garnering a nine-game hitting streak while picking up 17 base hits.

The Yellowjackets enjoyed their second straight season with over 20 wins and a winning percentage over .500, finishing 22-19 in the 2024 campaign under Yellowjacket skipper TJ Oakes.
