ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Saturday afternoon the Yellowjacket men's cross country team had one final go-around prior to the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Championship race, taking part in the Interregional Invitational, hosted by Augustana. Superior put forth a strong effort in a field of the region's best, creating good momentum before defending their conference crown in two weeks.
Race Notes
- Pacing the Yellowjackets was Dylan Uitto (Ashland, Wis./Ashland), establishing a new PR with a mark of 26:35.5 while placing 30th individually.
- The second Superior finisher was Ben Plackner (Bovey, Minn./Greenway), crossing the line at 27:45.4.
- Dominick Meisner (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer) and Tyler Smith (Ironwood, Mich./Ironwood) followed, picking up race times of 28:40.9 and 29:31.8, respectively.
- Finishing at 30:04.1 was Jayde Canfield (Prescott, Wis./Prescott), while Deryck Parduhn (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) (31:33.1) and Oleksandr Danylov (Kyiv, Ukraine/European Collegium) (31:55.6) rounded out the Yellowjacket entrants, respectively.
The 'Jackets will look to capture the program's eighth conference championship at the UMAC Championship, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8 at Winthrop Golf Course.
