NEW ULM, Minn. – The Yellowjacket volleyball team began the second portion of their Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) go-around Friday, traveling to Martin Luther. Following a loss to St. Scholastica earlier in the week, Superior rebounded nicely Friday, earning a 3-0 sweep over the Knights and posting their second-best attack percentage on the season.

- Superior leaped to a 7-2 lead in the first set and rolled through the rest of the set, winning 25-16. Maddie Hunter (Anoka, Minn./Anoka), Makenna Hohbein (Holdingford, Minn./Holdingford) and Sydney Smith (Milltown, Wis./Unity) paced the offense early on, while Sidney Bader (Milltown, Wis./Unity) aided the first half attack.
- The Knights stayed within striking distance in the second but were unable to collect a lead. Hohbein and Bader, along with Katlyn Jones (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer) generated kills to 15-8 before a six-point rally helped secure the second set 25-16.
- Another six-point rally secured another lead for Superior in the third. Hohbein and Bader once again led the way, and with a pair of kills from Ella Kapus (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine), the 'Jackets picked up a 3-0 sweep after winning the third 25-14.
- Hohbein led with 15 kills while Bader added nine. Hunter contributed eight kills as well.
- Savanna Hering (Superior, Wis./Superior) once again paced defensively, adding 24 digs under her belt. Hohbein and Alaina Wilberg (Anoka, Minn./Anoka) finished with 10 digs.
- Superior swung .320 on the evening, their second-highest mark of the campaign.
The 'Jackets (17-8, 6-1 UMAC) travels to Mankato to face Bethany Lutheran. Action inside the North Gym is set for 1 p.m.
