SUPERIOR, Wis. - The UW-Superior women's soccer team entered their match with Bethany Lutheran fighting for the top spot in the UMAC with the Vikings and Northwestern. In this game despite holding the advantage in shots, the 'Jackets fell short, losing to BLC by a score of 2-1.  

Match Notes:  

• The Vikings scored their first goal of the match off the foot of Riley Ping as she beat Yellowjacket goalkeeper Quinn Clark (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) in the ninth minute. They added their second goal off a free kick taken by Elena Lujan Rubio early in the second half.  

• The Yellowjackets secured a goal late in the second half from Niamh Larson (Brookfield, Ill./Riverside Brookfield), but it was too little too late as the Vikings fended off the UWS rally.  

• The Yellowjackets led the contest in shots on goal 20-9 with a 10-7 advantage in shots on goal. Larson led the way in total shots for UWS with seven, while Kamryn Hill (Duluth, Minn./Denfeld) added five.  

• Clark made five saves in net for UWS while the Vikings Arayah Baker made nine.  

The Yellowjackets (8-7-4, UMAC 7-1-3) return home tomorrow as they host Martin Luther for Senior Day. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at SCCU Stadium.
